Our state is a wonderful place to live, but our unique geology often poses challenges for our water quality. One of the most common problems is hard water (higher concentrations of dissolved minerals). Hardness is normally considered an aesthetic water quality factor. The presence of some dissolved mineral material in drinking water is typically what gives the water its characteristic and pleasant "taste". At higher concentrations however, hardness creates the following consumer problems:
Higher than normal concentrations of iron is another common problem. Water with excessive iron content can discolor or stain clothing, plumbing fixtures and other things that it has prolonged contact with.
Other very common issues we encounter are excess sand and sediment in well water and unbalanced pH values. Sediments can result in cloudy water, and in extreme cases sand can clog plumbing fixtures and pipes. pH is the measure of the degree of acidity or alkalinity of a particular water supply. If water is neither :acidic" or "alkaline", it's referred to as being "neutral". Excess acidity can be a serious problem as it can erode household plumbing and heating systems (sometimes quite rapidly).
All of these issues are readily addressed by various water filtration and conditioning solutions. Call AGS today and see how we can quickly help solve your water quailty problems!
